Liverpool win FA Cup: Sadio Mane showed his class after Tsimikas' penalty

Sadio Mane had the chance to be the hero in Liverpool’s FA Cup final against Chelsea on Saturday afternoon.

The game went to penalties after neither side could find a winner in the opening 120 minutes.

Cesar Azpilicueta’s miss in the shootout gave Mane the opportunity to strike the winning penalty for his side.

However, he was denied by international teammate, Edouard Mendy.

Fortunately for him, his failed penalty didn’t prove costly.

Alisson Becker saved Mason Mount’s effort in sudden death, giving Kostas Tsimikas the opportunity to score the winner.

The Greek defender stepped up with confidence and he dispatched his penalty with aplomb.

Every Liverpool player sprinted from the halfway line to celebrate Tsimikas’ winning penalty apart from one: Mane.

Fan footage shows Mane’s immediate reaction to Tsimikas’ winner.

When all his teammates ran to celebrate with Tsimikas, Mane could be seen jogging straight to Mendy to console him on Chelsea’s defeat.

The footage shows what a class act he is and you can view it below…
