Liverpool 'to offer' £70m for Man United target as fresh Scott McTominay exit route emerges

Liverpool are ready to try and lure Manchester United target Jarrad Branthwaite across Merseyside and submit an offer worth £70million for his signature. That's according to reports from The Sun, as Ineos continue to monitor the Everton defender even after snapping-up Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt already this summer.

United were 'open' to signing up to three centre-backs in a complete overhaul. However, due to lingering financial caution, further departures would be needed for Ineos to sanction a follow-up push for Branthwaite.

The Sun reckon Liverpool will offer £63million up front and £7million in add-ons. Branthwaite remains tied down at Goodison Park until 2027 - having signed a new contract with The Toffees last season - but there are indications he could be willing to leave as he 'wants' to play for a higher-profile club.

Liverpool have yet to make their move since appointing Arne Slot as head coach. So far this summer, the business struck up at Anfield has been outgoing - including Adrian to Real Betis and Fabio Carvalho to Brentford.

Elsewhere, reports from Football Insider reckon Everton are considering a move for Scott McTominay this summer. United rejected three bids from Fulham for their Scotland international previously.

The final offer was worth £23million, while United are said to be holding out for around £30million. The Manchester Evening News understands Ineos are still 'open' to selling McTominay before August 30.
