Liverpool ‘set sights’ on £41m defender as Torino ‘prepare for auction’ amid Juventus interest

Liverpool have reportedly ‘set their sights’ on Torino defender Bremer as the Serie A side prepare for a summer bidding war.

The 25-year-old – who moved to Torino from Atletico Mineiro for £5.2m in 2018 – has been in impressive form this season, drawing the attention of a number of suitors.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have never been far from speculation linking him with a move away, and Torino Granata (via Sport Witness) have again named them as one of the teams in the race for the Brazilian.

The report claims the player’s future has become a ‘recurring question’ due to his excellent form and Torino are now ‘preparing the auction to get the most out of his sale’.

Transfermarkt value Bremer at £27m, but reports in recent times have put his price tag at £41m.

There’s a chance, according to Italian pundit Francesco Oppini, that Bremer will remain in Turin, with Juventus identifying the defender as an option for next season.

“Juventus greatly appreciate Bremer and will try to give him to Mr. Massimiliano Allegri in view of next season. I can tell you that the management of the Old Lady has also identified the possible sacrifice. In order to buy Bremer, Juventus would be willing to sell Daniele Rugani to Torino,” Oppini told 7 Gold.

But Torino Granata claim Torino president Urbana Cairo will opt against selling Bremer to Juventus as it would lead to ‘criticism’ from the fans due to the city rivalry.

That, according to the report, gives other clubs a boost in their attempts to lure Bremer away, with Liverpool – who have ‘set their sights’ on the centre-back – chief among them.
