Jurgen Klopp's right hand man Pep Lijnders has been accused of taking credit away from the Liverpool boss in a scathing rant by Netherlands and Ajax legend Wim Kieft.

Lijnders has been an integral member of Klopp's coaching staff, rejoining the club in 2018 after a brief spell at NEC.

As part of Liverpool's backroom staff Lijnders has helped Liverpool to Champions League and Premier League success.

But now it seems he's overstepped his mark by taking too much credit.

That's according to Kieft, who was seemingly left incensed by a recent interview Lijnders gave to Dutch TV.

Writing in his column for De Telegraaf, via Sport Witness, the 59-year-old questioned Lijnders' choice of words and his real impact at the club.

"By the way, for those who didn’t know yet: Pepijn Lijnders, together with Jurgen Klopp, is the founder of the success of Liverpool. At least, according to Lijnders himself," he wrote.
