However, in these final weeks, the depth of Jurgen Klopp’s squad has been well and truly been put to the test during a helter-skelter run-in.

Klopp has leant heavily on his experienced campaigners and asked a lot of his men.

One man he knows he can always rely on is the evergreen James Milner.

His latest assignment, though, saw him step a little more out of his comfort zone than he may have liked.

In partnership with the ever-willing meme-in-a-can that is Joel Matip, Milner leant into the stereotype that surrounds him on social media in a superb, albeit rather bizarre, television advert.

Appearing for club partner ThinkMarkets, Milner and Matip go about explaining some of the complexities of online trading in the only way the Yorkshireman might know how – using bags of tea.

While Milner does the lion’s share of the talking, Matip was fantastic value as he pulled out some iconic facial expressions.
