Liverpool’s trophy parade blew players away as James Milner clip emerges
The final week of Liverpool’s season proved to be a bit of a damp squib as they narrowly missed out on the Premier League title and were beaten by Real Madrid in the final of the Champions League.
It would have been a bitter pill to swallow for players and fans alike who had been dreaming of immortality when that historic quadruple remained within touching distance.
However, Manchester City’s incredible comeback on the final day, followed by some remarkable Thibaut Courtois heroics in Paris, saw Liverpool end the season with two trophies instead of four.
You can imagine the mood in the camp would’ve been a somber one, especially when you consider the fact that Liverpool had more than enough chances to put the Paris finale to bed.
So, after a week of incredible disappointment, you can imagine that a trophy parade, less than 24 hours after Paris, might have fallen flat.
What they got, however, was the exact opposite.
Sensing that their beloved stars may need quite the pick-me-up, the Liverpool faithful turned out in their hordes, lining the streets along the Mersey and creating an unbelievable atmosphere.
The players themselves simply couldn’t believe the spectacle they were suddenly a part of as clips began to emerge from the top of the bus.
One clip in particular highlighted just how taken aback the players were by the welcome that was waiting for them.
As skipper Jordan Henderson filmed the parade, James Milner cut in to say: “Mate, what am I f***ing seeing?! Wow!”
You can see the brilliant moment, among others, in the clips below:
“What am I fucking seeing?”
