“Liverpool's interest is genuine” – talkSPORT reporter drops big transfer claim on £58m ace

Liverpool’s reported interest in Chelsea forward Christian Pulisic ‘is genuine’, according to talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook.

The 23-year-old has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge in recent weeks after struggling for regular game time and could be seen as an ideal heir for Sadio Mane.

According to the Daily Star, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is interested in signing Pulisic as he looks to bolster his notorious forward line.

Mane is expected to seek pastures new after failing to agree terms on a new contract, while Mohamed Salah is still yet to commit his future to the club despite reassuring fans that he is going nowhere.

The Reds have already moved to secure a deal for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, though, with just personal terms still to be agreed before a medical takes place.

Whether Klopp will feel the need to re-enter the market for further attacking options remains to be seen, but Pulisic certainly appears to be on his radar.

Bild reporter Christian Falk reiterated the Daily Star’s claim surrounding Liverpool’s admiration of Pulisic, and now Crook has done the same.

The respected journalist told GiveMeSport that the Anfield outfit are fans of the USA international, although he doubts Klopp will sign another forward player this summer.

In an interview with GMS, he said: “I think Liverpool’s interest is genuine, or it was before the Darwin Nunez deal really accelerated. So, whether they need another attacking player now, probably, I would say no.”

Klopp has publicly praised Pulisic in the past after he scored twice against Liverpool in a pre-season friendly in 2018, labelling him a “skilled” and “smart” player.
