“I know for a fact” – Journalist drops interesting update as Man Utd eye “top class” £69m star

Manchester United ‘would like’ to sign Ajax winger Antony in the current transfer window, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The Red Devils have been pursuing the talented 22-year-old for the majority of the summer and appear to be edging closer to reuniting him with his former manager Erik Ten Hag.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano revealed that ‘new contacts will take place soon’ between United and Ajax over the potential sale of Antony.

It’s claimed that the Brazil international’s representatives want the reigning Eredivisie champions to ‘consider potential proposals’ for their client, while the club are holding out for a €80 million (£69m) fee.

Jones believes that Ajax are acting ‘cagey’ when it comes to negotiations over Antony but they actually ‘feel they could replace’ the South American in their squad.
