Liverpool legend makes damning Man United prediction about Paul Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo

Former Liverpool striker Ian Rush believes Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba should join Real Madrid, suggesting that the style of Spanish football would suit the midfielder's game.

Pogba is out-of-contract in the summer and is poised to leave Old Trafford on a free. He has been heavily linked with an array of big-name European clubs in recent months, including former team Juventus.

However, as revealed by the Manchester Evening News last week, the midfielder has been made an offer by French heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain. It is understood that the France international is open to joining the Ligue 1 giants but would prefer to return to Juventus.

Madrid have also been closely linked with the 29-year-old in the recent past and Liverpool icon Rush believes a move to the Spanish capital could suit the midfielder down to the ground. He also believes that Pogba will end up strutting his stuff at the Bernabeu.

"We're still not certain who's going to be in charge next season but whoever it is will have a big job on their hands," Rush told Gambling.com. "It wouldn't surprise me if one or two players left in the summer.

"Paul Pogba is the obvious one – his contract is up and it looks as though he'll be courted by both Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain. A new manager might persuade him to stay if he's appointed in time, but at the moment I reckon he'll go to Madrid.

"PSG are a great team but the French league isn't as powerful or as prestigious as the Spanish league, so if Pogba has any real desire about him he'll go and challenge himself in La Liga. He can always go back to Ligue 1 when he's a little older and, besides,
