Liverpool: Klopp urged to 'go and sign' £30m midfielder at Anfield

Liverpool should go out and sign Youri Tielemans before the window closes, according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp admitted last week that he was wrong, and he does need to sign a new midfielder, with Taylor suggesting the German should target Leicester star Tielemans.

Liverpool bounced back from the Old Trafford debacle by trouncing Bournemouth 9-0 at Anfield on Saturday to record their biggest ever Premier League victory.

But prior to the game, and just four days after seeing James Milner and Jordan Henderson struggle against Manchester United, Klopp stated that he will look to bring in another midfielder.

With Thiago Alcantara, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Curtis Jones all injured, Liverpool are short of options in the middle heading into a hectic run of 15 games in the space of two months.

When asked about a midfielder, he said: “I know we have had this discussion since it all started, and I am the one who said we don’t need a midfielder and I was wrong. That’s the situation. But the specific point doesn’t change – we will do something, but it has to be the right one. We will see.”

With Liverpool running out of time, Taylor has suggested that they should make a move for Tielemans, who’s entered the final 12 months of his Leicester contract and is available to leave before Thursday.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “If Tielemans is available for £25m-£30m, just go and do it because he will improve the squad, he will lift the place.

“Even if he won’t be a starter when everyone is fit, I still think he’s a decent top quality player that will give something to Liverpool.”
