Liverpool join Manchester United in Jules Kounde race and more transfer rumours
Liverpool have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde ahead of the summer transfer window.
Kounde has been tipped with a move to Old Trafford, with centre-back just one of the positions United are expected to try to strengthen in the summer. Questions have been regularly raised about Harry Maguire’s position in the side, while Eric Bailly and Phil Jones have been linked with moves away.
Much has been discussed about Kounde’s future, with the 23-year-old the subject of plenty of speculation. United and Chelsea are both said to be keen on signing the Frenchman.

Barcelona and Real Madrid have also been linked with the defender, who still has two years left on his deal at Sevilla. According to reports, Liverpool have now also joined the race.
Fichajes claim Jurgen Klopp’s side are serious contenders for Kounde and are determined to win the race for his signature. With speculation growing over Joe Gomez’s future at Anfield, the Reds could be another club in the market for a new defender.
Reports state Kounde has a release clause in his contract worth around £68.7million. The France international has enjoyed another strong campaign in La Liga, with Sevilla battling it out for the Spanish title.
Elsewhere, United are said to be the only side maintaining an interest in Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele. The 24-year-old looks set to be on the move this summer having fallen down the pecking order at Camp Nou.
