Liverpool feel they have “gone as far as they can” when it comes to their offer to renew the contract of Mohamed Salah, according to a report.
Salah is about to enter the final year of his contract with Liverpool. He has confirmed he wants to stay at the club for the 2022-23 season at least. Their hopes of having him around for longer hinge on what they can offer him in a new deal.
Liverpool have already sanctioned the sale of one of his fellow attackers, Sadio Mane. The Senegal international was in the same boat regarding his contract, so the club opted to sell rather than break their wage structure for a new deal or let him run down the old one.
