Liverpool: Darwin Nunez's red card v Palace analysed by Neville & Carragher

After two rounds of Premier League matches, Liverpool only have two points on the board.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were held to a 2-2 draw away at Fulham on the opening weekend of the 2022/23 season and had to rescue a point against Crystal Palace on Monday evening.

Liverpool fell 1-0 behind at Anfield when Wilfried Zaha finished off a superb counterattack in the first half and things got worse shortly after the break.

Mega-money signing Darwin Nunez was deservedly shown a straight red card for a reckless headbutt on Palace centre-back Joachim Andersen.

It was a true moment of madness from the Uruguayan and the only solace for him was that Luis Diaz equalised in stunning fashion just minutes later.

Nunez will know better than anyone that he messed up badly, especially as Liverpool would more than likely have gone on to win at Anfield if he had remained on the pitch.
