LIVE: Yousef Makki WAS unlawfully killed as coroner delivers final inquest conclusion
A coroner has concluded that Yousef Makki WAS unlawfully killed following the second inquest into his death. The Manchester Grammar School pupil, from Burnage, died after being stabbed by friend Joshua Molnar in Hale Barns, Trafford, on March 2, 2019.
Molnar claims he acted in self-defence when he stabbed Yousef through the heart following a bust-up on Gorse Bank Lane. The pair had spent the day with another friend, Adam Chowdhary, riding their bikes and smoking cannabis. All three were 17 at the time.
Chowdhary called a drug dealer to purchase more cannabis but at the subsequent rendezvous, two 'heavies' of the dealer beat up Molnar and took his bike. About 90 minutes later, after an unsuccessful search for the bike, Yousef was fatally stabbed.

He died later in hospital. Yousef's family, represented by Pete Weatherby KC, had previously urged the coroner to return an 'unlawful killing' conclusion.
Molnar, now 21, told the inquest his actions had been 'pretty disgusting' following the stabbing but denied lying. Chowdhary, also 21, was also forced to deny lying to police to 'protect himself'.
Coroner Geraint Williams heard three days of evidence into Yousef's death at at Stockport Coroners' Court last week. He gave his judgement in court this morning (October 24) that Yousef was unlawfully killed and that Molnar's actions amounted to manslaughter.
Following the conclusion, Yousef's family is expected to speak in a public press conference.
