Live updates as William and Kate set to visit Wales as part of Platinum Jubilee celebrations

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are due to visit Wales today on day three of the Queen's Platinum Jubilee weekend of celebrations. The royal couple will meet some of Wales's best-known performers before a celebration concert at Cardiff Castle.

William and Kate will meet the crew behind the event, learning about the lighting, sound and visual effects for the show before helping with the final preparations. The couple will also watch rehearsals and meet Aled Jones and Shan Cothi, who are both hosting the show which will feature Mike Peters from The Alarm, singer Bonnie Tyler, West End star John Owen Jones, drumming weatherman Owain Wyn Evans and Pendyrus Male Voice Choir.

The performances will finish at 7pm and the crowds can then watch the Platinum Party at the Palace on giant screens on the castle grounds. Read everything you need to know about the concert here.

At that event, the Duke of Cambridge and his father the Prince of Wales will take to the stage to pay public tributes to the Queen during a star-studded Jubilee concert. The future kings will speak separately in honour of the monarch towards the end of the BBC's open-air show, staged in front of Buckingham Palace on Saturday evening.

Diana Ross, Queen + Adam Lambert, Alicia Keys, Hans Zimmer, George Ezra, and Eurovision 2022 runner-up Sam Ryder are among the celebrity acts preparing to entertain a live crowd of 22,000 people and a television audience of millions.

It is thought unlikely the Queen will attend the concert but confirmation of any movements will be released on the day. She will not attend Saturday's Epsom Derby Day, but the avid racegoer will be glued to the TV, watching the developments from Windsor.
