Live updates as 'serious' crash closes major road

A "serious collision" closed a major road in Swansea. According to traffic monitoring service Inrix, the A483 Fabian Way eastbound was closed due to an accident from the A4067 Quay Parade to Kings Road.

South Wales Police confirmed that they were at the scene of the collision on Quay Parade opposite the Aldi supermarket in the area. The police force confirmed at around 6.22pm that one lane was closed on the outbound carriageway.

The road was expected to be closed for some time and delays were expected in the area, the force said. In a statement shared on Facebook, South Wales Police posted: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on Quay Parade, Swansea, opposite Aldi.

"The road currently has one lane closed on the outbound carriageway. It is expected to remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible. Delays are expected in the area."

At around 9.17pm, Inrix confirmed that the A4067 Quay Parade northbound had been re-opened and the accident was cleared from the City Gates to the A483 East Bank Way in the city.
