A man is standing trial accused of the murder of Llanelli man Ashley Sarsero. The 26-year-old died following an incident in Maestir in the early hours of Sunday, September 10.
James Alan Smith, 35, of Nelson Terrace, Llanelli, pleaded not guilty to murder, to an alternative charge of manslaughter, and to possession of a bladed article when he appeared in the dock of Swansea Crown Court in December.
Steven George Morgan, 36, of Station Road, Llanelli, pleaded not guilty to assisting an offender in relation to the same incident, and is also standing trial.
Following the death of Mr Sarsero his family released a tribute to their loved-one. They said: "Our beautiful, precious boy who would light up a room. Much loved brother of Emily, Rosie, Zach, Liam and partner of Jade. Devoted son of Claire and Wayne. Tragically taken away from us, Ashley will be greatly missed. The family request privacy at this sad time."
