Live updates as 'multi-vehicle' crash blocks part of busy Cardiff road

Traffic is said to be building on a busy road in Cardiff following a 'multi-vehicle' collision. South Wales Police has confirmed it was called to the scene of the crash on the A48 Eastern Avenue westbound off slip for Southern Way in Cardiff.

The force said that lane one was currently closed to enable officers to deal with the vehicles involved. The force also warned that traffic had started to build up in the area.

In its post on social media it added that the lane was expected "to remain closed for some time", and it also told motorists to avoid the area and find alternative routes for their journey.
