Live updates as M4 is closed in both directions due to serious crash near Swansea

The M4 is said to be closed in both directions this morning due to a serious crash. The route is shut between junction 45 for the A4067, Ynysforgan, and 46 for the A48 to Llangyfelach and is expected to be closed for some time, according to South Wales Police.

A police tweet this morning said: "We are at the scene of a serious collision on the M4 motorway. The road is currently closed in both directions between J45 & J46 It will remain closed for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible Delays are expected in the area."
