Live updates as M4, A470 and A4232 motorists warned of adverse conditions as weather warning in place

Drivers are being warning of "poor driving conditions" due to heavy rain on some of south Wales' busiest roads. Traffic Wales is warning of adverse conditions on the M4, A470 and A4232.

Temporary speed restrictions are in place in some places and motorists are being told to "take extra care if travelling this afternoon". One motorist described the M4 near Baglan as "scary" saying that there were large areas of standing water.

There is a yellow warning for heavy rain in some parts of the country during Thursday. The Met Office warning says: "Turning heavier during Thursday. Rain is expected to clear away during Thursday afternoon. 30-40 mm is likely to fall quite widely, with peaks of 60-80 mm over some mountains of south Wales."
