LIVE updates as Levenshulme street flooded with police and paramedics and air ambulance lands

Police and paramedics are responding to a 'concern for welfare' incident in Levenshulme this afternoon. Pictures show a number of police vehicles on Slade Lane, close to the junction with Albert Road. A number of ambulance vehicles are also on the scene.

An air ambulance has also reportedly landed nearby. The incident appears to be centered around a flat above a former shop. A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson confirmed officers were called the North West Ambulance Service to assist with a 'concern for welfare report'. NWAS have also been contacted for details.

According to an eyewitnesses, some of the police are leaving the scene on Slade Lane.

A small number of officers remain at the cordon outside the old laundrette.

A GMP spokesperson said a woman has been taken to hospital from the scene.

The extent of her injuries are 'unknown' at this stage.

Officers are reportedly knocking on doors on Slade Lane and asking for CCTV.

The exact nature of this incident is yet to be confirmed.
