Live updates as Harry Styles fans camp out ahead of his gigs at Cardiff's Principality Stadium
Harry Styles fans have been camping out in Cardiff ahead of his two sell-out gigs at the Principality Stadium this week. Despite warnings last week not to come too early, there was a row of tents in position in Westgate Street on Monday morning with around 45 people waiting for the first show on Tuesday night.
Friends Tatianna PuertoReal, 24, from New York and Julia Parrey, 21, from Pennsylvania, have been queuing since lunchtime on Sunday The superfans met at a Harry Styles concert and went to all the Wembley shows last week. Julia, who is studying in the Netherlands, has seen him 15 times in total and Tatianna 17 times, but coming to the UK is furthest they have travelled for him.
Last week, fans were asked not to camp overnight outside the venue ahead of the shows. Organisers said there will be no place to camp on the stadium grounds that are outside the ticket gates for "safeguarding reasons" while a queuing system would be in place.
A stadium spokesman said: "We would like to remind fans that there are no facilities for overnight camping at Principality Stadium. For safeguarding reasons camping on the stadium footprint is strictly forbidden and queuing will be facilitated on show days only therefore we strongly encourage fans to make alternative arrangements for overnight stays." As well as the tents, there was also a massive queue along the Wood Street bridge outside the Principality Stadium plaza on Monday morning as fans waited for the merchandise trucks to open for business.
The Golden singer takes to the stage on Tuesday and Wednesday this week with tens of thousands of people expected to attend, the stadium and Cardiff Council have already issued advice to gig goers.
