Live updates as crashes on M4 causes long delays near Swansea and Newport

There is queueing traffic on two separate stretches of the M4 on Thursday morning after crashes in difficult driving conditions. The first crash was near Swansea where one lane is closed and there is congestion after an accident on the M4 Eastbound at J46 A48 Clasemont Road ( Llangyfelach ).

There is congestion to J47 Penllergaer / Swansea West Services. According to traffic monitoing system INRIX one lane is closed. The crash happened just before 7am.

Further east, one lane is blocked and there is queueing traffic due to an accident on M4 eastbound from J24 A449 ( Coldra ) to J23A A4810 ( Magor Services). The congestion stretches back to J25 ( Caerleon ). Travel time is around 25 minutes.
