Live updates as crash shuts part of M4 near Swansea
A crash has closed two lanes of the M4 near Swansea. Traffic Wales, which monitors roads across the country, said that the westbound carriageway was closed just before 2pm on Tuesday afternoon.
Shortly after the initial closure, they said that one lane had re-opened.
It has happened between junction 45 Ynysforgan and junction 46 Llangyfelach. Traffic Wales says: "Avoid the area if possible."
Pictures of queues starting to build were also shared by the organisation on Twitter. It is the third serious accident to have happened on the M4 in south Wales in the past 24 hours. Earlier on Tuesday, South Wales Police confirmed that a driver died at the scene of a crash that shut M4 for several hours.
