Live updates as crash closes main route into Cardiff

Emergency services are at the scene of an accident that has closed one of the main routes to Cardiff from Caerphilly on Monday morning. The A469 Thornhill Road, also known as the MountaIn Road, is closed from Cefn Carnau Lane to The Travellers Rest pub.

Traffic monitors are showing that the road closed just before 6.15am. Gwent Police said: "The road is currently closed in both directions. Please avoid the area and find alternative routes for your journey."
