Live updates as crash causes severe congestion in Cardiff

An accident on a busy Cardiff road is causing major congestion. It has happened on Cardiff Road, near Howells School, which is a very busy and narrow route through the city where traffic is slow and congested at the best of times.

Traffic monitors are showing that the A4119 Cardiff Road is blocked in both directions. Photographs from the scene appear to show that only one vehicle is involved. It is also close to a house that has been decorated with spiderwebs and skeletons, an inflatable Dracula and glowing tentacles for Halloween. Traffic maps are showing very heavy traffic building up in surrounding areas.
