Live updates as black smoke fills the sky above the M4 from major fire in Swansea

Firefighters have been called to a large fire in Swansea. The blaze has broken out on Swansea Road near Penllergaer and Gorseinon.

It is not yet clear where or how the fire started, but five fire engines and a specialist appliances have been sent to the scene after receiving a call shortly after 2.10pm on Thursday. Police are also in attendance.

Pictures from the scene show huge amounts of black smoke billowing into the air next to a main road.
