Live traffic updates as 'serious' crash leaves road closed near railway station

An A-road is closed in Bolton is closed tonight (Saturday, December 21) following a 'serious' crash. The A6053 Bolton Road is shut to traffic in both directions near Moses Gate railway station in Farnworth.

The closure was first reported at around 11pm. It is currently unclear how many vehicles are involved or whether anyone has been injured.

Inrix, the traffic data company, said: "A6053 Bolton Road in both directions closed due to serious accident from A575 Manchester Road (Moses Gate Interchange) to A575 Egerton Street (Railway traffic lights). Outside Moses Gate railway station."
