LIVE traffic updates as long queues build on M61 and M60 amid lorry fire

There are long queues building on both the M61 and M60 this morning amid reports of a lorry fire.

According to traffic alert service Inrix, two lanes have been closed off on the M61 northbound due to the incident. The lanes are shut from junction three for Kearsley Spur to junction four for Farnworth.

Traffic is slow on this stretch of the motorway. The closure is also causing tailbacks onto the M60 near junction 15.

Motorway cameras show long queues on the anticlockwise side of the motorway and on the exit slip towards Bolton. Congestion is reportedly back to junction 18.
