LIVE: Traffic queueing on M60 as lanes shut due to 'vehicle fire' - latest updates

Two lanes have been shut off an a stretch of the M60 this morning due to a 'vehicle fire'.

According to traffic alert service Inrix, two lanes are closed on the clockwise carriageway near Prestwich. They are shut between junction 16 for Pendlebury and junction 17 for Prestwich and Whitefield.

Lanes one and two, of four, are closed. Motorway cameras show long queues up to the incident.

Traffic is also slow on the anticlockwise side as drivers look at the incident.

According to traffic alert service Inrix, just one lane is now closed at the scene.

Long delays remain on the clockwise side with congestion back to junction 12.

There are delays of around 30 minutes.
