LIVE: Southport murderer Axel Rudakubana removed from court AGAIN after shouting 'I need to be seen by a paramedic. I feel ill' - latest updates
Southport killer Axel Rudakubana is set to learn his fate for murdering three girls in a horrific attack in Southport.
Rudakubana, 18, has pleaded guilty to murdering six-year-old Bebe King, seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe and nine-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar. The girls were attacked during a Taylor Swift-themed dance party at The Hart Space in the Merseyside town on July 29 last year.
He has also pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of eight other children and to the attempted murder of Leanne Lucas and Jonathan Hayes. He submitted his guilty pleas on Monday (Jan 20) on what was scheduled to be the first day of a four-week trial.
Rudakubana was given medical attention in the early hours of today (Jan 23), sources said. He eventually appeared in the dock an hour after proceedings were due to start but had to be evicted after making several outbursts in court, claiming he is in pain and that he wants to see a paramedic 'having not eaten for 10 days'. One family member shouted “coward” as Rudakubana left the dock as other relatives shook their heads.
Rudakubana is not expected to receive a whole-life order because he was 17 at the time of the attack and the measures can normally only be imposed on criminals aged 21 or over. They are usually only considered for those aged 18 to 20 in exceptional circumstances.
Cardiff-born Rudakubana, now of Banks, Lancashire, further pleaded guilty to possessing a knife on the date of the killings, which he bought on Amazon, production of a biological toxin, ricin, on or before July 29, and possession of information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing to commit an act of terrorism.
