Eamonn Holmes 'missing' from GB News after branding Meghan Markle 'fake'

Eamonn Holmes was notably "absent" from his regular presenting role on GB News this morning. Ben Leo filled in for him, co-hosting alongside Ellie Costello.

The 65-year-old, typically anchors the show from Monday to Wednesday each week. However, he was "missing" today. His absence follows his recent critical remarks about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's public display of affection at the Invictus Games.

Harry and Meghan attended the opening ceremony in Vancouver. Throughout the event, they were spotted sharing kisses and holding hands. Responding to their appearance on GB News, Breakfast host Eamonn Holmes criticised the couple's "nonsense" displays of affection, accusing the Duchess of Sussex for staging a performance, reports the Express.

Speaking to the GB News panel, Eamonn blasted: "All this nonsense is in the papers today. If you just look at these pictures, all this is so acted out."

With a tone of genuine disbelief, Eamonn described Meghan's overt displays of affection, hand-holding, embracing, and showing devotionals as something that felt "fake", exclaiming: "Oh, gosh," as he flipped through the pictures in the papers.

When co-host Ellie Costello questioned him on whether he thought these gestures were authentic or merely a performance, he firmly stated his opinion: "It's totally fake."

Commentator Dawn Neesom also shared her views during the discussion. She suggested that Meghan's behaviour might be a response to recent comments made by Donald Trump, who hinted at potential marital issues for Prince Harry.
