LIVE: Road in Salford taped off amid 'concern for welfare' with police on scene
A road in Salford is cordoned off this morning amid a 'concern for welfare' incident.
Emergency crews were first called to Cross Lane in the early hours. They responded to reports of 'concern for the welfare of a female'.
The road remains taped off this morning (Thursday) with officers on the scene. Greater Manchester Police and the North West Ambulance Service have been contacted for further details.

In a statement, a GMP spokesperson said:
"At around 2.30am this morning (Thursday 4 July 2024), we were called to a concern for welfare on Cross Lane, Salford.
"A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital with life-changing injuries and remains there in serious condition.
"Enquiries are ongoing."
We have contacted GMP and NWAS for information.

The closure is in place on Cross Lane in Salford this morning.
It has reportedly been in place since the early hours.
