LIVE: Police scenes in place after double shooting horror - latest updates
Police scenes are in place across Tameside after reports of a double shooting last night (October 21). Officers were called to reports of a firearms discharge on Standish Walk in Denton and Mill Lane in Hyde at around 9pm.
The two incidents, thought to be linked, saw armed officers and a police helicopter swoop overhead, with efforts still ongoing to trace those responsible.
Greater Manchester Police are treating the incidents as 'targeted'. It is understood a gunshot was blasted through the window of a property on Standish Walk, injuring a person inside.
Scenes currently remain in place at both locations, with police tape also surrounding a number of properties on nearby Yew Tree Road.

A gun was blasted in two 'targeted' shootings in Greater Manchester on Monday night (October 21), with streets taped off and an investigation now underway.
Detectives are investigating a firearms discharge in both Denton and Hyde at around 9pm. Reports were made of two shootings on Standish Walk, Denton, and shortly after at nearby Mill Lane in Hyde.
A gunshot was blasted through the window of a property on Standish Walk before the suspects fled the scene. No serious injuries were reported.

A witness said: "Last night a helicopter was out in Denton, and during the evening police taped off Yew Tree Road and Standish Walk after gunshots were fired at a property."
Another said there were two Tactical Aid Unit (TAU) vans and three police cars at the scene on Standish Walk shortly after 9pm.
The two incidents, thought to be linked, occurred around 1.4 miles away from eachother.
