LIVE: Manchester Christmas Markets officially open and return to Albert Square - updates on prices and more
The Christmas Markets are officially open in Manchester today - bringing with them plenty of chance over the next six weeks to enjoy German bratwurst, Gluhwein and other festive treats.
The markets are spread across ten locations this year, including Albert Square - the first time in six years that the famous wooden chalets will be found there. As well as a mini market here, there will also be a festive fairground featuring 50m Ferris wheel and a Christmas carousel next to the Town Hall.
As well as the attractions at Albert Square, St Anne's Square will also play host to a live music stage with not-to-be-missed' live music sessions from a Santa's talented line-up of musicians and singers every day.
Some of the most popular traders will be making a return to the markets whilst others will be setting up shop for the first time - all offering their own range of street food, festive treats, handmade crafts and everything in between.
From today (November 7), the markets will feature 274 stalls in locations spanning Piccadilly Gardens (The Winter Gardens), Market Street, Corn Exchange, New Cathedral Street, Cathedral Gardens, St Ann's Square and Exchange Street, Exchange Square and Albert Square.
The markets will be open daily until Monday 22 December - except at Cathedral Gardens and Albert Square which will remain open until Sunday, 4 January alongside the ice rink at Cathedral Gardens and festive fairground attractions at Albert Square.
With such a vast set-up this year, the Manchester Evening News team will be out and about today to find out all the tips and tricks you need to know when it comes to getting by at the Manchester Christmas Markets - including their top recommendations, travel advice, and all the prices at
