Sporting star Geovany Quenda sends five-word Man City message amid Manchester United interest

Manchester United transfer target Geovany Quenda has already enjoyed "a night to remember" against Manchester City after featuring in Sporting's 4-1 win over Pep Guardiola's side in the Champions League.

Quenda, 17, started the match in Lisbon and assisted Viktor Gyokeres' equaliser after splitting the City defence with a pass that sent the striker through on goal. That was his second assist this season and the first since August.

His senior debut came at the start of that month in the Portuguese Super Cup against Porto, in which Quenda became the youngest goalscorer in the club's 118-year history. His other goal, against Famalicao last month, was also historic, as he became their youngest-ever league goalscorer.

The teenager celebrated those achievements on social media, and Quenda again marked the latest occasion on Instagram. "A night to remember later, " he captioned a post featuring five photos from the game.

The winger also shared a post from Sporting's account on the platform, with the club captioning an image of the Leõessquad throwing Ruben Amorim up in the air: "Family." They did so after the incoming Manchester United head coach took charge of the Portuguese champions for the final time at their Estadio Jose Alvalade home.

Less than 24 hours after that match, the Manchester Evening News reported that United are tracking Quenda. Sources said the club has been following his progress this season, with Portuguese sources likening his talent and work ethic to Arsenal's Bukayo Saka.

However, the winger renewed his contract less than two months ago
