LIVE: M62 shut towards Manchester due to serious police incident - latest updates

The M62 is shut this morning towards Manchester due to a serious incident.

The westbound carriageway has been closed off towards junction 26 for Bradford and junction 25 for Brighouse. The eastbound carriageway is shut within junction 25, according to Highways England.

Drivers are being warned to expect delays into rush-hour. Traffic is being diverted via local routes westbound.

Eastbound traffic is being diverted via the exit and entry slip roads at the junction. Highways England added: "Due to the nature of this incident we are not able to advise when the road is likely to reopen."
