LIVE: Long traffic delays on M6 following crash involving lorry and van - latest updates
There are long delays on the M6 heading southbound after a crash involving a lorry and a van. Two lanes were closed, followed by heavy queueing traffic from junction 25 at Bryn to junction 24 for the A58 Liverpool Road in Ashton-in-Makerfield.
Congestion is stretching back to junction 27 for Standish, with traffic on the opposite side slow due to onlookers, according to traffic service Inrix. Travel time through the area is currently around 90 minutes.
Lanes one and two of three were closed. They have since re-opened but there are 90 minute delays and six miles of queues.
