LIVE: Trams suspended on Rochdale line after crash involving car and tram - latest updates
Tram services between Shaw and Crompton and Rochdale Town Centre have been suspended following a crash involving a car and a tram. Beal Lane near the Shaw and Crompton stop has been closed in both directions. Local buses are accepting passengers with Metrolink tickets.
Tram services will only be running from East Didsbury to Crompton.
Manchester Metrolink tweeted: “Due to a Road Traffic Collision, services are suspended between Shaw and Crompton and Rochdale Town Centre. Services are operating between East Didsbury and Shaw and Crompton ONLY. Tickets are accepted on 59, 181 and 182 bus services. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
Traffic monitoring tool Inrix says: "No service due to accident involving a tram and a car on Manchester Metrolink between Shaw and Crompton and Rochdale Town Centre. Tickets being accepted on local bus routes.”
