LIVE: Lanes closed as car recovered from side of M61 - latest updates
Lanes have been closed on the M61 this evening with a car seen being recovered from the verge of the carriageway.
Two lanes are currently shut on the southbound carriageway of the M61, between J6 for Horwich and J5 for Westhoughton.
Police and Highways Officers are at the scene currently with traffic using the outside lane. Motorists have been warned to expect delays.
Further details have not yet been confirmed, however Greater Manchester Police have been contacted.

An Inrix update reads: "Traffic easing, earlier accident on M61 Southbound from J6 A6027 De Havilland Way (Horwich) to J5 A58 Snydale Way (Westhoughton)."
The car involved has now been recovered from the scene.
Motorway camera images appeared to show it being recovered from the verge of the motorway.
National Highways has said lanes have been closed following a road traffic collision this evening.
It has not been confirmed how many vehicles were involved or the nature of the crash.
A car appears to have been recovered from the side of the motorway and placed on the back of a recovery van.
