LIVE: Greater Manchester 'danger to life' weather warning in force - latest updates

Greater Manchester is expected to face more downpours today (May 23). People are being urged to take care after the Met Office issued an amber weather warning for rain across the region.

The warning came into effect at 12pm yesterday and lasts for 24 hours, ending at midday today. According to the Met Office there is a potential 'danger to life' caused by 'fast flowing or deep floodwater'.

Drivers are also warned to expect tricky conditions on the road, while some roads may be closed. Public transport and power services may also be impacted by the weather.
