LIVE Emergency services scrambled following incident on Formby beach
Emergency services are on the scene following an incident on the coast in Merseyside this morning (February 16).
According to eyewitnesses, an ambulance, medical response car and four police vehicles all descended on Lifeboat Road. RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institution) quad bikes are also in the area.
Merseyside Police have been approached by the Liverpool Echo about the nature of the incident. The emergency service vehicles are not present on the actual beach, but instead are gathered in the car park on Lifeboat Road, towards the Albert Road end of the beach.
The area has many different walking routes to the beach.
When asked about the ongoing situation and the reports circulating, Merseyside Police confirmed they were dealing with an incident and would release further information in due course.

The body has yet to be formally identified. Police had been searching for Theeraphat Khongthale who was last seen on Formby beach in Sefton at around 3.30pm on Monday, 3 February.
He was wearing a black bomber jacket, black hooded top, black cargo trousers, and black square framed glasses. Theeraphat was described as 5ft 7in, of slim build, with short, black hair and lip and nose rings.
Extensive searches of the National Trust site have taken place over the course of this week to find him, with Merseyside Police launching an investigation in conjunction with HM Coastguard and Southport Lifeboat.
Merseyside Police confirmed the body of a man was found just before 8.30am this morning. Ambulances have now left the area.
