Andy Burnham is holding an emergency press conference after scenes of disorder erupted during protests in Manchester city centre and Bolton over the weekend.
The Greater Manchester Mayor, along with Deputy Mayor for Policing Kate Green and Bev Craig, leader of Manchester City Council will be talking to reporters this afternoon (August 5).
Scenes of disorder unfolded in Manchester city centre and in Bolton on Saturday and Sunday amid a widespread escalation of rioting across the UK.

On Saturday (August 3), a demonstration organised under the banner of 'Enough is Enough' in Piccadilly Gardens became violent as attendees clashed with counter protesters and police. Fights broke out, a supermarket had to be closed and public transport was brought to a standstill.
Then on Sunday (August 4), a protest under the same name was held in Bolton. The arrival of around 300 counter protestors sparked chanting between the groups, with missiles thrown at police and several scuffles.
Following the briefing this afternoon, Mr Burnham will be answering questions from reporters.

Today's press conference comes after 19 people were arrested during protests in Greater Manchester on Saturday and Sunday
Officers made five arrests on Saturday. A further fourteen arrests were made on Sunday in relation to offences for being drunk and disorderly, possession of a weapon, assault, criminal damage, and violent disorder.
Seven people were charged with possession of a weapon: Ajaz Ahmedm 43, Daniel Robinson, 37, Matthew Edge, 34, Hamza Mohammed, 23, Keenan Sanders, 20, and two 16-year-olds.
