LIVE: All traffic stopped on section of M60 after crash - latest updates

All traffic has been stopped on a major Manchester motorway this morning after a crash closed part of the carriageway.

Emergency services raced to the M60 anticlockwise between J27 A6188 Tiviot Way (Portwood Roundabout) and J25 A6017 Ashton Road (Brinnington) at around 7:40am on Sunday (September 24).

Queues are forming as traffic is held from just before the J27 slip road. The incident is expected to take several hours to clear, according to National Highways.

The condition of those involved is not yet known. Greater Manchester Police has been contacted for more information.

There is still 'heavy traffic' in the area, with normal traffic conditions expected to return at around 10:30am, according to National Highways.
