Live A484 traffic updates: Road traffic collision shuts road between Cynwyl Elfed and Carmarthen

Heddlu Dyfed-Powys Police closed the A484 main road between Cynwyl Elfed and Carmarthen following a road traffic collision on Sunday (October 23).

It was not known how many vehicles were involved in the collision. Police asked members of the public to avoid the area if possible and to find an alternative route.

According to live traffic flow maps online, there appeared to be short tailbacks of traffic a few hundred metres south of the Murco garage outside Cynwyl Elfed. A different map indicated the accident may have occurred a further mile down the road towards Carmarthen.

In a tweet from the police issued at 10:12pm on Sunday, officers stated: "Road closed: The A484 between Cynwyl Elfed and Carmarthen is currently closed due to a collision. If possible, please avoid the area and find an alternative route. Thanks."

At 11:39pm, police issued an update stating that the road had been cleared and was once again open.
