Linda Nolan's sister Anne wipes away tears as she makes emotional funeral plea
Anne Nolan issued a heartfelt plea to fans and residents of Blackpool as the family prepare to bid farewell to their beloved sister Linda Nolan today (Saturday, February 1st).
Dublin-born and beloved singer Linda sadly passed away at the age of 65 in hospital on January 15, with her loving family by her side after a two-decade battle with cancer.
A touching memorial service is set to be held for Linda at St Paul's Church in Blackpool at 10:30am. Notably, this church holds deep personal significance as the place where she exchanged vows with her late husband Brian Hudson and later laid him to rest.
In a heartfelt pre-recorded tribute aired on BBC Breakfast on Saturday, Anne honoured her sister's memory but also took the opportunity to invite those who wanted to join the mourning procession. Anne stated: "Everyone is welcome."
She added with an emotive call to the community: "Please be there if you can, if you can make it. She would have loved to have seen as many people as possible, reports the Express.
Overwhelmed by the outreach of sympathy and support following the loss, Linda's family feels incredibly touched by the gestures of kindness they've received. Anne expressed her gratitude, remarking on how amazing everyone has been with their phone calls and cards.
Highlighting a particular tribute that moved them profoundly, Anne mentioned: "We're so grateful. I mean they lit up the tower [Blackpool Tower] when she passed away, the tower was lit up in pink. I think she would have been thrilled if she knew what was happening."
