Limerick's O'Donoghue to be suspended for league final

Limerick midfielder William O'Donoghue is set to miss this weekend's Allianz Hurling League Division 1 final against Kilkenny.

The GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee has recommended that O'Donoghue receive a one-match suspension that would rule him out of the league final.

The proposed suspension follows a tussle with Tipperary midfielder Alan Tynan just before the two counties met in the recent league semi-final in Limerick.

RTÉ Sport has confirmed that after reviewing the incident, the CCCC recommended a one-game ban.

Although the match referee did not take any action in the tussle between O'Donoghue and Tynan just before the semi-final, the CCCC has the authority to make a retrospective recommendation of disciplinary action or otherwise - provided it has been confirmed that the match referee took no action in the specified game.
