"Would be a big signing for West Ham" - Journalist drops verdict amid major transfer twist

West Ham target Arnaut Danjuma would be a “big signing” for David Moyes, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The Hammers boss is interested in bringing the Netherlands international to the London Stadium and O’Rourke reckons that his potential arrival would be a significant coup for the club.

Having secured two defensive additions in Nayef Aguerd and Alphonse Areola, Moyes is now turning his attentions for the other end of the pitch.

According to the Guardian, West Ham have opened talks with Villarreal for Danjuma, who enjoyed an exceptional first season in Spanish football.

The report states that the two clubs haven’t yet agreed a fee, but the Hammers are confident they will eventually get their man for around £34.5m plus add ons.

Fabrizio Romano believes that Moyes wants Danjuma to be one of their ‘statement signings’ as West Ham gear up for another campaign of European football.

Danjuma is well prepared for continental competition, too, having played in the Champions League last term and O’Rourke reckons the 25-year-old would provide stiff competition to Moyes’ frontline, even though the Hammers boss is now having doubts over bringing him back to the capital.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I’m sure there will be a lot of clubs interested in the Dutchman’s signature this year, they put a £40m release clause in there as well, so it would be a big signing for West Ham, and someone who would only add to their attacking options ahead of next season.”
