Liam Scales in Celtic waiting game as Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin ramps up summer recruitment drive

Jim Goodwin could be forced to play the waiting game for Liam Scales while Celtic welcome players back from injury.

It comes as the Irishman completed his first signing as Aberdeen boss with the capture of Albanian midfielder Ylber Ramadani after a £100,000 deal was agreed with MTK Budapest.

But Goodwin isn’t stopping there with Irish international pair Connor Ronan and Jamie McGrath on this radar for loan moves.

Ipswich keeper Vaclav Hladkay is another target but he also has options back in the Czech Republic.

The Dons have also asked the question about Charles Dunne but St Mirren’s valuation is a lot higher.

Another player that is on the radar is Celtic defender Scales, although that could be delayed until the champions get more players back from injury.

Aberdeen have also renewed their interest in soon to be out-of-contract Blackburn midfielder Jacob Davenport.

Stephen Glass was interested in the 23-year-old back in January and now Goodwin and his recruitment team are monitoring his situation closely.

The Aberdeen scouting team have also flagged up several European targets.

Goodwin has predicted Ylber Ramadani will become a big favourite with the Red Army.

The Albanian international, who has penned a three year deal, has become Goodwin’s first Pittodrie signing.

Aberdeen agreed to pay relegated MTK Budapest £100,000 to land their 26-year-old midfielder.
