Lewis Hamilton sends Ferrari warning for final races of 2022 season

Lewis Hamilton has vowed that he and Mercedes will be on all-out attack for the remainder of the F1 season.

The Silver Arrows have not had the year they would have liked in 2022 with them unable to mount a championship challenge.

Indeed, they are still looking for their first race win of the campaign but they are at least in a better position than they were earlier on this year when things were particularly tough.

Whether or not they can get a win on the board between now and the close of the season in Abu Dhabi remains to be seen, of course, but they still have plenty to fight for this year even if they are not going to win either championship.

Indeed, finishing second ahead of Ferrari is an attainable target, with just 35 points between the two teams at the moment, with six races still to go.

If they can do that it would not only be a financial boost to the team but also a real psychological one, given how quick the Ferrari has been.

Indeed, it’s testament to Mercedes’ hard work and their great reliability that they are in touch with Ferrari ahead of the final half-dozen Grands Prix, and Hamilton has warned the Scuderia he and the team will be flat out trying to beat them to P2:

“Our goal is to try and get second for the team because that does make a huge impact for everyone back at the factory,” Hamilton said at a Petronas event earlier this week in Malaysia.

So these next six races are just about maximum attack, nothing to lose and we’re just going to give it hell.

Ferrari are still the favourites to finish second this year, of course, as they have the better car but they have made mistakes a fair bit this season and doing so again in the final few races could open the door for Mercedes to steam through.
